Today we went with the whole Animal Genomics Team from the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) for a hike in a Nationalpark, called Komio. AS I haven’t asked for permission to publish peoples faces, I just add here an empty photo of our grilling place.
Today I gave a talk at the annual meeting of the The Finnish Society of Biostatistics. The title was ‘On the use of containerization, versioning and online repositories for reproducible research’, the slides can be found here.
And as I was in Helsinki, the obligatory church picture must not be forgotten.
It really looks like the autumn is here in Finland. The nights are around zero degrees (okay, so far, I did not need to scratch the windshield, but I saw others who had to.) and the leaves in the trees are turning yellowish. The nicest thing about this time of the year are clearly the colours, this morning on my way to the office I had a so beautiful sunrise that illuminated the buildings behind the fields in so great autumn colours. If the autumn stays like this, I do not mind!
Currently, I am in Copenhagen, attending a hackathon on functional annotation on lncRNA and snRNA in livestock. This evening, we went for the Norrebro Bryghus, a bar/restaurant that I can highly recommend! On the way back to the hotel, we passed the ‘lakes’ under the full moon, but unfortunately, my mobile camera was not really able to capture the atmosphere as it was.
