This is the first part of my lecture notes on statistics, as it was read in the beginning of 2000’s by Prof. Götz Trenkler at the Technical University of Dortmund. Back then, the course was called “Statistik III” and followed the basic courses of statistics. Hence, I call it also here ‘Statistics III’, as it requires some basic knowledge in mathematics and statistics.

As my notes are in German, I decided to translate them into English to refresh my Statistics as well as my basic stats vocabularies a bit. Hence, if there is something wrong with the scripts, it was most likely not in the script of Prof. Trenkler wrong, but I noted it wrongly, typed it here wrongly or translated it wrongly. In any way, pointers to issues are highly welcomed.
